About Selective Software

Pittsburgh, 1982. Accounting software for trucking companies ever since.

We have been around from DOS to the cloud, and we have stayed with the trucking companies who came with us.

Selective Software Inc. was founded in July 1982 by Gary E. Walkowski in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We have been around from DOS to the cloud, selling, installing and supporting accounting software for trucking companies the whole way.

Systex: freight billing in the DOS days

Systex was our freight billing program for DOS. It is where our trucking focus began.

Realworld, then Microsoft Dynamics GP

As businesses moved onto PC networks we became a reseller for Realworld's modular accounting software, and in the late 1990s for Great Plains. Microsoft bought Great Plains in 2001, and Microsoft Dynamics GP was the platform we sold, installed, trained and supported for the next two decades.

AcuTransportation on Acumatica

Today we build on Acumatica Cloud ERP. AcuTransportation is native to it: Freight Billing, Maintenance & Repair, Dispatch and Fuel, sharing one truck file, one customer list and one general ledger. The same people who wrote it install it, move your data and answer the phone afterwards.

It pays to be Selective.

What that history buys you

Why it matters to a trucking company choosing software today

We know where every number lives

Decades of accounting-software migrations, run by people who know where every number belongs in Acumatica.

Trucking is not a sideline

From Systex to AcuTransportation, trucking has been our focus. The dispatch desk, the shop floor and the back office are the jobs we design for.

Still here, still answering

Forty-plus years in the same city. The vendor who sold you the system is the one who supports it.
